The depression under the spinous process of the first lumbar vertebra (the thirteenth vertebra) in the midline of the waist.
  • Zhenjiu Jiayi Jing: "Between the thirteen vertebrae". You can also select acupoints at the bulges of the spinous processes,
  • Leijing Tuyi: "When taking the points on the governor vessel (GV) between the spines, they should be taken at the joint process."

[Anatomy]

  • Muscles: lumbar tendon membrane, supraspinal ligament and interspinous ligament.
  • Nerve: medial branch of the posterior branch of the lumbar nerve, and the spinal cord is within the spinal canal.
  • Vessel: posterior branch of lumbar artery, interspinous subcutaneous venous plexus.

[Manipulation]

Perpendicular insertion is 0.5 to 1 cun. Do not insert the needle deeply, or insert the needle at the height of the spinous process and subcutaneously insert 1 to 2 cun downward. moxa cone moxibustion 3 to 5 times, moxa stick warm moxibustion for 15 to 20 minutes.

It sharpens the waist and spine and eliminates food retention.

  • Classical: Accumulation in the abdomen rising of qi descending, unkindness, indifference of water and grains, diarrhea, strong waist and spine unable to bend or stretch.
