On the lateral side of lower back, in the depression below the free end of twelfth rib, approximately 1.8 cun anterior to
Zhangmen (LR13) and roughly level with
Zhishi (BL52).
- Zhenjiu Jiayi Jing: "Below iliac crest, in lower back, 1.8 cun posterior to lower ribs";
- Beiji Qianjin Yaofang‧: "At iliac crest in back, near lower ribs, adjacent to spine";
- Xunjing Kaoxue Bian: "Located at the midpoint between Shenque (CV8) and Mingmen (GV4)." This can be used as a reference for locating the point.
