[Anatomy]
- Muscles: trapezius, deep layer is supraspinatus.
- Nerves: branches of the supraclavicular nerve, branches of the accessory nerve, and the deep suprascapular nerve.
- Vessels: suprascapular artery and vein.
[Manipulation]
Perpendicular insertion 0.5~1 inch, not too deep. moxa cone moxibustion 3 ~ 5 strong, moxibustion with moxa stick 5 ~ 10 minutes.
[Efficacy]
subduing swelling and dissipating bind.
- Classical: pain in the back and arms, static blood in the chest, pain in the shoulders and arms due to inflexion and extension, fright epilepsy, hematemesis, scrofula, hyperthyroidism.
- Modern: Supraspinatus tendonitis.
