connecting point; confluence points one of eight extraordinary meridians, leading to yin link vessel (Yin LV). Lingshu‧Weiqi: "The root of the palm is located two inches between the two tendons at the back of the palm."
[Origin]
The hole is located on the volar side of the forearm, opposite to Waiguan (TE5) on the dorsal side of the forearm, so it is called "Nei"; the hole leads to the pericardium and connects to Shaoyang, so it is called "Guan".
[Location]

(quoted from "Yan Zhenguo acupoint anatomy")
Neiguan (PC6) acupoint
(quoted from "Meridians and Acupoints")
On the volar side of the forearm, 2 inches above the wrist crease, between the palmaris longus tendon and the flexor carpi radialis tendon, when Quze (PC3) and Daling (PC7).
- Lingshu‧Jingmai: "Remove two inches from the wrist, between the two tendons";
- Xunjing Kaoxue Bian: "Daling (PC7), facing Waiguan (TE5)"
.
[Anatomy]
- Muscles: The radial side is the flexor carpi radialis tendon, the ulnar side is the palmaris longus tendon; the superficial layer is the flexor digitorum superficialis muscle, the deep layer is the flexor digitorum profundus muscle, pronator quadratus muscle, and the volar surface of the interosseous membrane of the forearm.
- Nerve: Dual distribution of the medial and lateral cutaneous nerves of the forearm, the palmar cutaneous branch of the median nerve; the deep radial side is the median nerve trunk; the deepest layer is the interosseous palmar nerve of the forearm.
- Blood vessels: the median forearm vein, the radial side is the median artery; the deep layer is the interosseous artery and vein on the volar side of the forearm.
[Manipulation]
Perpendicular insertion 0.5~1 inch. Care should be taken to avoid injury to the median nerve trunk (especially when performing acupoint injections). moxa cone moxibustion 5~7 strong, moxa stick warm moxibustion for 10~15 minutes.
