bubble_chart Etymology

"Zhong" (中), middle; "zhu" (注), infusion of qi and blood, indicating an acupoint. The point is located at the intersection of middle abdomen and Yinjiao (CV7), hence the name.

In lower abdomen, 1 cun below umbilicus (Yinjiao (CV7)) and 0.5 cun lateral to the midline.

  • Muscles: aponeurosis of internal and external oblique muscles, aponeurosis of transversus abdominis muscle, and rectus abdominis muscle. (deep layer: small intestine).
  • Nerve: tenth intercostal nerve.
  • Vessels: muscular branches of inferior epigastric artery and vein.

Perpendicular insertion 0.5~1.5 cun. Moxibustion with moxa cone 3 to 5 times, moxibustion with moxa stick for 10 to 15 minutes.
