[Origin]

Full, plump. The cave is located in the plump bulge of the abdomen, which is the fourth point after the foot lesser yin kidney meridian (KI) enters the abdomen.

The lower abdomen is opened two inches below the navel (Shimen (CV5)) five minutes apart.

[Anatomy]

  • Muscles: internal and external oblique tendon membrane, transversus abdominis tendon membrane, rectus abdominis muscle. (The deep part is small intestine).
  • Nerve: Eleventh intercostal nerve.
  • Blood vessels: muscular branches of inferior epigastric artery and vein.

[Manipulation]

Perpendicular insertion 0.5~1.5 inches. moxa cone moxibustion 3 to 5 times, moxa stick warm moxibustion for 10 to 15 minutes.

[Efficacy]

Regulates menstruation, diuresis, and relieves bloating and fullness.

  • Classical: subumbilical accumulation, running-piglet up and down, hernia, large abdomen, stony edema, dysentery, menstruation unfavorable, bad blood in uterus, seminal emission, incontinence of urine, abdominal distension and fullness, abdominal pain, pain in both flanks.
  • Modern: bladder inflammation, prostatitis.

[Recipe]

  • Pot-bellied stony edema: Siman (KI14), Rangu (KI2).
  • Zizang has bad blood, internal inverse fullness and pain: Siman (KI14), Shimen (CV5).
  • Hernia: Zhongji (CV3), Siman (KI14).
