bubble_chart Category Luo-connecting point.
bubble_chart Etymology
"Zhi" (支), limb, where "支" is interchangeable with "肢"; "zheng" (正), center. The acupoint is located in the middle of forearm, hence its name. Zhenfang Liuji: "One method takes Wangu (GB12) and elbow joint as two ends, with this acupoint located in center, thus called Zhizheng."
Alternatively, it is named because it is the luo-connecting point of hand taiyang small intestine meridian, where the collateral branches off from the main meridian, extending from main (zheng, 正) to collateral (zhi, 支), hence the name.
Huangdi Neijing Taisu Yang Shang-shan note: "'Zheng' (正) refers to the main meridian; 'zhi' (支) refers to collateral. Above the main meridian of taiyang, this collateral branches off and connects to shaoyin, hence the name 'Zhizheng'."
