"Yin" (陰) refers to hand shaoyin heart meridian (HT); "qie" (郄) refers to pores. The point xi-cleft point of hand shaoyin heart meridian (HT) cleft point, hence the name.

On the volar side of forearm, 5 fen above wrist crease, in the depression on the radial side of the tendon of the flexor carpi ulnaris muscle, 0.5 cun above Shenmen (HT7).
  • Zhenjiu Jiayi Jing: "In the pulse behind palm, 0.5 cun above wrist";
  • Xunjing Kaoxue Bian: "Below the large tendon near pisiform bone, in the yin division. Yinxi (HT6) is located above the tendon, while Yanggu (SI5) is below the tendon".

  • Muscle: between flexor carpi ulnaris tendon and flexor digitorum superficialis muscle, the deep layer is flexor digitorum profundus muscle.
  • Nerve: medial cutaneous nerve of forearm, and ulnar nerve on the ulnar side.
  • Vessel: ulnar artery.

Perpendicular insertion 0.3~0.5 cun. Moxibustion with moxa cone 1 to 3 times, moxibustion with moxa stick for 3 to 5 minutes.

clear heart fire, subdue floating yang, calm mind, consolidate exterior.

  • Classical: headache, vertigo, heart pain, palpitations, chills with aversion to cold, epistaxis, hematemesis, pharyngitis, night sweating, infantile bone steaming in children, aphonia and inability to speak, cholera, fullness in chest, cold-induced cough.
  • Modern: neurasthenia, tuberculosis.
